Juhani, Aapo, Tuomas, Simeoni, Timo, Lauri and Eero, better known collectively as Seitsemän Veljestä (Seven Brothers in English) are the most famous siblings in Finland.
Liesjärvi National Park in Tavastia Proper is named after the beautiful Liesjärvi Lake. Although the Liesjärvi National Park is quite small is size, it contains nearly 50 kilometres of shoreline thanks to the Liesjärvi and other lakes.
Kuopio Cathedral (Kuopion Tuomiokirkko in Finnish) is located right in the heart of the city of Kuopio, in Northern Savonia. The beautiful church was built between 1805-1815. This church and the Snellman Park (Snellmanin puisto in Finnish) right next to it are well worth a visit when you are in Kuopio.
Taipale Canal in Varkaus dates back to 1840. It connects lakes Unnukka and Heinävesi, which are part of Lake Saimaa. The height difference of the upper and lower side is about five metres, so it is quite impressive to watch the canal in action. The current canal was built in 1867-1871. The old canal from 1840 is now a museum area.
